The Jackal is seen driving a white Alfa Romeo Spider
Tale
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. He soon meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe..
Referenced in Graham Norton’s likes: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024)
In The Day of the Jackal (1973), The Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier generation model.. In my opinion, the series is worth watching, especially because Eddie Redmayne's performance as the hitman is simply outstanding.
He also comes across very convincingly as someone who really knows about weapons and even in the action scenes he shows strength and dynamism and quick decision-making skills
He embodies his role in an unbelievably versatile way, in one scene he's very natural and loving like a family man, in another scene he's totally calculating and ice-cold, and you can totally believe it from his very differentiated facial expressions. The main female role of secret agent Bianca, on the other hand, is unfortunately a very flat role of a woman who can only ever hit and doesn't act subtly at all, in my opinion.
She also has unnecessary family scenes that totally distract from the actual plot
She is very ruthless, both towards her own family and her sources, and she gets a lot more screentime than the Jackal, which unfortunately slows down the tension more often. I find her storyline far too broad and her role far too unsympathetic to find the series 100% good.

But because Eddie's acting is so outstanding and the series is of incredibly high aesthetic quality, with great city and landscape shots and first-class music a la James Bond, I think it's worth watching.. A new season of "Silo" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
